The road weaves its way through the Glen, and gently starts to descend towards the sea as the picturesque village of Lochranza unfolds before you. The summer sunshine, beautiful blue sky, bright yellow gorse in flower, and the crystal clear reflection of the majestic Castle in the tranquil sea below, will etch a peaceful picture of Lochranza forever in your memory

The Lochranza Hotel stands amidst this timeless village and has a spectacular panoramic view across the bay One of Arran's original hotels; The Hotel is tastefully decorated throughout. It has a high level of hospitality and comfort which sees many guests return time and time again.

The food is excellent using the best of fresh local produce served in the style of traditional home cooked meals. Dinner is taken in our friendly atmospheric bar and breakfast in the well appointed Breakfast room

The bar, with its enviable collection of malt whiskies and choice of real ales, also offers a wide choice of light snacks, speciality coffee, lunches and suppers adding variety and good value for money.

The intimate and cosy residents' lounge is a choice spot for quiet relaxation.

All bedrooms are attractively and comfortably furnished, and all are fully equipped with en suite facilities, colour television, and tea/coffee hospitality tray.


The Isle of Arran rests in The Firth of Clyde, and the main ferry crossing all year round is from Ardrossan in Ayrshire to Brodick. In the Summer (April - October) a smaller ferry runs from Lochranza to Kintyre, making the Island more Accessible


The hills and shoreline which cradle Lochranza, abound with wildlife. Large herds of red deer can be seen all year round; birds of prey, including golden eagles, can be seen soaring above the hills; red squirrels, seals, oyster catchers,otters, basking sharks, swans, cormorants and numerous varieties of duck, are just a few of the wonders that you can see every day in Lochranza.

Within the village there is an 18 hole golf course (9 greens), a putting green and distillery. The village hall has ceilidhs, concerts and other events throughout the summer months.
